What should I review in the future?
egyptian gods are basically furries but dont get bullied for it
Not to defend the movie, but you do know that while Egypt lies in North Africa, it's population is largely semitic? AKA jewish, arabic, persian. That kind of descent? For them to be black would be very wierd. Black people sure as hell existed in Egypt. Probably a lot, especially in the southern regions, but they wouldn't all be black just because it's in Africa.
That said, they wouldn't be pasty white British or American either. Why am I complaining? This movie is a dumpsterfire.
NGL, I love the CG of the Egyptian city., Everything else was all right.
The only bit i liked from this movie was using the eye as bait to lure in and kill his followers. But they didnt need to actually use the eye for that, just.. lie.
I forgot his name, but as far as I remember, the guy who played Tutanchamun in "Nights at the museum" (who is egyptian) offered to play a role in the movie, but he got declined by the studio.
I wanted to point out a fact about these movies success. Non-english speakers. Whether actors might be bad/good, trained and common voice actors will fix everything about it, especially in deliveries. For example, the "pretty girl" phrase was delivered in an actual human way so it changed the whole meaning, making it actually good. All the other acting problems get fixed the same, and especially the problem with the "accents". You english speakers have to realize that there's no "English" to look for, there's always an accent, and it could've been an egyptian accent sure, but that's rather silly isn't it? Having a whole movie in a weird accent, even though it is for "generally normal" english speakers? You gotta deal with it unfortunately
This movie has the vibes of those bad sword & sorcery movies from the 80's.
For the whole movie, Anubis is the only character i love.

To be fair, as a lover of all things mythology, I'm just going to say that this movie was absolute garbage in the actual mythology department. They put no effort into this movie and it shows

Hey guy, have you calculated, how many Coptic Egyptians (not those Arab-looking ones) who are able to speak at least Coptic (not Arabic) do you have in Hollywood? And how many people in the world would understand them? The last real Egyptian actor in California – as far as I know – was Omar Sharif and did he look like some old Egyptian statue?
This movie hurt me. Starting with the stupid designs ,bad CGI and nearly all british cast, going on with a greek sphinx not the egyptian one, ending with getting most egyptians myth completly wrong.
Also Seth in the myth has a moment of saving grace and redemptian, cause it is him who lands the final blow on Apophis whan Ra gets week.
You should know that white people lived all along that inland sea. Not saying they were white just saying white people were there. Look at all their mythology, they speak of white people being the race of all kinds of things. You should know this
