In Historical Egyptian faith, Taweret (additionally spelled Taurt, Tuat, Tuart, Ta-weret, Tawaret, Twert and Taueret, and in Greek, Θουέρις – Thouéris, Thoeris, Taouris and Toeris) is the protecting historic Egyptian goddess of childbirth and fertility. The identify “Taweret” (Tȝ-wrt) means “she who’s nice” or just “nice one”, a standard pacificatory tackle to harmful deities.[1] The deity is often depicted as a bipedal feminine hippopotamus with feline attributes, pendulous feminine human breasts, the limbs and paws of a lion, and the again and tail of a Nile crocodile. She generally bears the epithets “Girl of Heaven”, “Mistress of the Horizon”, “She Who Removes Water”, “Mistress of Pure Water”, and “Girl of the Beginning Home”
