From what I heard, they originally wanted to make a movie adaptation of 'Paradise Lost', the story where Lucifer is the main character. That never happened so they reused some of the designs for this movie.

Am I the only person that enjoyed the movie? Like yeah, it's not Thor or anything groundbreaking, but I seriously enjoy the way gods are so involved in the lives of ordinary mortals and stuff. It's so unabashedly 'yeah, the gods are real' and not 'gods are superheroes' or 'gods are secretly real but they live on another planet', there's no scifi, no dystopia, just pure mythology 😊

The Mythology Guy: Lore time. Hey I know there where many inaccuracies in this movie but I still love the hell out of this movie & I’ll take it over those knockoff Percy Jackson films. Leonidas was the best actor who carried this damn movie as Set & Black Panther would have been a better Horus than Jaime Lannister. & Like Disney’s Hercules; Yes it’s not perfect but we’re all suckers for punishment 😅

As an Egyptian I have to say alot of gods in ancient Egypt don't make sense, alot of them just come out of no where since some pharaoh wanted to introduce his own god that he came up with and just destroys the entire mythology, hell, the entire Egyptian mythology was created to warn Egyptians of not rising up against the pharaoh or doing bad deeds against him or anyone that supports him, most gods in ancient Egypt were just chill I guess, some of them were "kinda" like a Jesus figure, and others resemble Greek gods then pharaohs just come out of no where and introduce their gods Example, one of them was praying to the god Aten and the pharaoh made himself the son of the Aten which everybody knew he made up Aten, but since people believed that the pharaohs were godly beings they couldn't really go against him.
